Kumusta

To all former Ateneo students:

Hi. This is Mr. Tamidles. If you still remember me - I was at AGS from 1979 until my retirement in 2002. Those of you who were under me - please keep in touch. I just want to know how you have been through these years and how you keep up the real world in the real life.

I am right now here in New York City (since 2002) and I am teaching at a Catholic School. I used to tell my students how Ateneo students were during those years and how brilliant they were.

My students here in New York could not believe that Ateneo Grade School is located in a sprawling campus complete with amenities like big auditorium, big cafeteria and a swimming pool. They are amused of the 16 basketball courts that we have at the grade school with all students playing basketball at the same time and passing the ball and knowing their playmates. I was also amazed of that kind of skill! Those were the years.

And of course the many contests that we were very much involved - elocution, pagbigkas, choral recitation and the pressure and the tense moments of the judging - and how we won, defeated, walked out (he he he he he) and all those beautiful and wonderful times we shared together. Of course the intramural games and the class nights and the campings (for all the boy scouts who were with us), etc. etc. etc. Those were really the years. Missed all that.

Please get in touch.

Mr. Tamidles

hello, sir.

yeah, 20 simultaneous games on each of those 16 basketball courts during lunch can be a tad dumbfounding.

great to hear from you again, sir.

Hi sir!

This is Edward Venegas of Grade 6 Luna of (1998-1999).

I'm here at Carson, CA.

And yes, the nostalgic stories of our grade school... I really miss that.

Hello, sir.

You may not remember me but I certainly remember you. In a very fuzzy way, of course. I was walking in the cafeteria and you accosted me and talked to me the way an old friend would. What's nice about it was I don't think I was your student (ever.) I remember praising the Filipino... err, Tagalog textbook that you wrote and how helpful it was for me. I stand by what I said.

I miss the Ateneo Grade School too. Prior to last January 2009, the last time I visited was around 2003 or 2004.

Hope you're doing well.

Hi sir!

This is Jose Antonio Kaimo, 7-Gonzaga Batch 2000.

I still reside in Marikina. You used to live here in Marikina right? Marikina Heights, I think. Anyway, how are you sir? I also missed my Ateneo days. I wasn't able to enroll there for HS for some reason. It's a long story.

Sir, if you have a facebook account, please check mine. I've tried to contact my other batchmates and I've found some. I also uploaded our class pic with you in it. Seeing it makes me happy. It brings back happy memories.

Nice to hear from you.

Keep in touch sir.ΓΌ

Mr Tamidles,

I don't think I was ever your student, however - and I speak (assuredly) for every single other Atenean out there who was never one of your students - we all knew you. The first thing that I thought of when someone posted a link about your blog, was of one year during the Linggo ng Wika, and you came to school in a barong and a big coolie hat. Other than that one memory, there were a few more that came to mind, such as greeting your class or greeting you in the hallways. Reading your first blog entry really brought back memories of the good old days.

Good to hear that you're doing well, Sir.

Magandang araw Ginoong Tamidles,

Hi Sir! Aris Mascenon po to, you were our moderator in 7-Gonzaga for the SY 1999-2000. Just finished college last year, graduated BS Management in Ateneo tapos currently taking up Law here in UP Diliman.

Goodluck to you in New York sir! You are one of the few teachers whose classes are still very clear in my mind, you definitely made a mark.

Hi Mr. T!

It's nice to hear from you! You were our Filipino teacher back then in gr. 6 (6-Malvar).. oh the memories of AGS days... people here in Canada are so amazed at how big the Ateneo campus is and how educated the students are. Of course I can say that the teachers I had back then were really great for helping us build that learning foundation - that includes you sir!

Hope you're doing well in NY!

Medyo grabe ang life sir.. haha. I recently resigned from my job in Alaska Milk Corp as a distributor specialist.. mahirap pala talaga ang sales although fun and challenging siya. Now, inaantay ko na lang ang week long vacation ko sa Boracay at snap back to reality na naman to find work.. most probably sales pa rin.. =)

Sir update naman po kayo ng blogs if you have time! we don't really mind if you school us even after 9 years..

Keep in touch sir!

Hi Sir!

Mahirap kasi mag-aral kapag may iniintinding anak.

Sana naman nasa mabuting kalagayan kayo Sir. Mag-ingat po kayo diyan sa NY.

God Bless!

Sir Tamidles!

Miko Lagula po, 7-Gonzaga Batch 2000. Dami pala namin dito hehe. Tama si Anton, pa-New York, New York ka nalang ngayon ah! Ayus yan...

It's good to hear you're doing well sir, I am too. Graduated from the Ateneo University last year, now working. Totoo nga yung sinabi nila about how time flies. :)

Hanggang sa susunod na pagkikita/usap sir. In the meantime, inadd ko na kayo sa Facebook!
